Fallout 3 Laser Rifle AER9

Fallout 3 Laser Rifle
Created By: Harrison Krix

The Individual AER9 Rifle components are illustrated on the blueprint.

The laser rifle pattern is traced onto the 1/2" MDF purchased from a local hardware store.

A bandsaw, scroll saw, or jigsaw can be used to cut shapes from the MDF board.

A belt or orbital sander can then used to refine the shape of the detailed pieces.

A router has been used to bevel the circles located on the rifle stock, and around the edges of the gun.

The rifle grip was cut from 3/4" MDF. Then a belt sander was used to shape the laser rifle grip that will slide back and forth along a pipe or dowel.

A hand chisel or dremel is used to remove unwanted material from detailed areas that require attention.

An orbital sander was used to define the shape of the laser rifle components, and prepare the surface for primer.

Strip styrene was cut, and applied to the exterior of the rifle for added detail.

The areas that include moving parts have been masked off with tape and newspaper.

Detergent soap or alcohol is used to clean the surface.

The first coat of primer is applied.
Then it is left out overnight to dry.

A base-coat of acrylic paint is applied to the surface.
Color has been added to simulate metal, corrosion, dirt, wear, and tear.

Here is the completed model AER9 Fallout 3 Rifle.
